Matt Miley’s first solo exhibition in Sweden “Transparent Landscapes” includes three drawings in ink, graphite and aquarelle, each at a height of three meters, as well as his most recent work – “Dissemenating Sentiance” – a collage of nine images drawn on three layers of drafting film. The exhibition is curated by Galleri Duerr, In collaboration with Najdron Gallery.
Life-size bears, mythological characters, birch tree forests, snow, Louisiana swamps, abstraction: These are some of the elements that one finds in Matt Miley’s art. In a transparent landscape, perhaps in the landscape of one’s self, his work depicts uncertainty through images of humans and animals in a state of becoming or becoming undone.
