Sofia Eriksson, born 1985 in Karlstad, is an artist based in Stockholm. She graduated from Konstfack in 2018 with a Master degree within the field of craft. Eriksson is specialised in metalwork but combines different materials in her work. She uses aesthetics from the world of jewellery and ornamentation, examining tensions between and within materials, and the human body.
Bodybuilding Mirrors is a play on the corporeal. I want to lure the viewer to come close, to meet infinite variations of their body in the reflection. In the shiny metal a new shape takes form, where reality and illusion are blurred.
