For the shot to move on.
Porcelain, Underglaze painting
I am from Germany. And I make porcelain. I was often asked by aunts and uncles if I will start to work at Meißen one day. The more often I was asked, the stronger I rejected.
These tiny cups quote a German porcelain tradition but celebrate the imperfect. Porcelain moves during its firing. It gets soft before hard. I love the idea of my porcelain dancing in the heat, moving in the direction they feel comfortable in. The pattern they are coated in once was traditional. I haven’t looked at the original for a while now, however, the familiarity remains. It transformed on the surface, piece by piece into a large armada of unique individuals.
This is not Meißen. These are my shots to move on.
