Ellen Ljungqvist b. 1990

Ellen Ljungqvist (b. 1990) graduated from Konstfack in 2022 and works  with sculptures and reliefs in glass mosaic for public environments. With hand-cut pieces of mosaic a faceted surface with beautiful light  reflections is created. From a distance, the sculptures can be perceived  as real, but when you get closer, it’s like zooming in on a picture. Suddenly you see all the pieces like pixels. We can observe a visual appearance that  alternates between different worlds, where the pixelated figures in glass become frozen moments between the virtual and real world meet.
