A "vidja" is a straight, thin, and flexible twig or root of pliable wood; it can, for example, be from juniper, hazel, willow, birch, or osier. Vidjas are used for thin strips, weaving walls, fences, baskets, and fishing gear such as fykes. Peeled, twisted vidjas have been used for ropes, nets, snowshoes, and pack saddlebows.
Gärdesgård and Stavgång were constructed with the help and guidance of Per Lundberg, Tuna Timmer AB.
