Sea Change is a poetic title that alludes to profound transformation… the whole world changing course. The exhibition consists of paintings in luminous color, small and large, round and rectangular—each painting an individual with its own temperament. In the round, orange-red Sea Change - Reversal there is powerful dynamism, a will, a hopefulness. Reversal was the starting point for the Sea Change series, which ends with The Conclusion: Incandescent Intimacy. This final round piece shows darkness with sparks… are there creatures here? Is it a disaster or a collision course being redirected? Hatz’s paintings are considered abstract, but there are hints of landscapes, atmospheres, and creatures. Different kinds of brushwork and idioms are woven together: thick paint applied with a palette knife lies next to illusionistic surfaces.
Sea Monsters at Sunrise is a series of seven paintings inspired by the romantic painter Turner. His unfinished painting Sunrise with Sea Monsters at Tate Britain became an invitation to the artist—a portal to conjure up her own worlds, light rising from the depths.
Another group of individual paintings, Wallpaper for a Queen, vary in color from apricot to forest green. These have highly textured surfaces that change in the room’s changing light. They invite the viewer to quiet daydreaming in the twilight.

Är det en katastrof, en kollisionskurs som riktas om? Hatz’ måleri räknas som abstrakt men här finns antydan till landskap, dagrar, figurer. Olika sorters penselskrift och formspråk vävs ihop, tjock färg applicerad med palettkniv ligger intill atmosfäriska ytor.
Sea Monsters at Sunrise, en grupp på sju målningar är inspirerade av den romantiske målaren Turner.
