We are proud to introduce glass artist ROSITA STÅHL with her massive takeover of what we call The Office, a 1500m2 space situated in the middle of our building in Norra Stationsgatan.
During 8 weeks until end of February Rosita will experiment freely inside The Office to push the boundaries of her art even further on a large scale.
Rosita Ståhl (b. 1985 in Gotheburg) is a Swedish glass artist and craftsmaker who mainly works with blown and sculpted glass. At the age of 16, Ståhl attended Orrefors Riksglaskola in 2002, earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Royal Danish Academy and graduated 2023 with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Crafts and Glass from Konstfack Stockholm. She lives and works in Stockholm.
Process and knowledge, work and time, visibility and invisibility are some of the overlapping stories that inspire Rosita to create her mesmerizing immersive installations. In her work she puts the process of glass blowing at the center of her installations by using sound, video, glass art and projections
With the unique qualities of glass, Rosita strives to tell different stories where light, shadows, reflections and refractions play central roles, while emphasizing the presence and invisibility of the maker. She often inserts herself or other creators as narrators into her work through video or audio, which initiates an intellectual discourse beyond the matter and makes viewers immerse themselves in the underlying layers and creative processes.
