Tinplate 6 — Ogygia
Ogygia. An island located in the western Mediterranean. In a cave surrounded by vast forests of alder, aspen, and cypress, the nymph Calypso resides. Near the cave, four streams flow, lined with vineyards. The surrounding meadows and coastal plains are covered with fields of violets and wild celery. The island’s fauna consists mainly of owls, falcons, ravens, and small birds. Ogygia was first charted and described by Homer around 800 BCE.
Ogygia.
